Top 50 Hotels in the World for 2025 Announced, Featuring Two Beloved Bali Properties

The highly anticipated list of the World’s 50 Best Hotels for 2025 has been unveiled, highlighting the globe’s most exceptional hospitality destinations. Among the prestigious selections are two renowned hotels from Bali, Indonesia, underscoring the island’s enduring appeal as a premier travel destination.

The World’s 50 Best Hotels is recognized internationally as one of the most esteemed awards in the hospitality industry. Each year, an expert Academy of over 800 members—including hoteliers, travel journalists, educators, and seasoned luxury travelers—casts votes to determine the premier hotels across various regions. This year, the list has expanded to include rankings for places ranked between 51 and 100, broadening the scope to honor even more outstanding properties worldwide.

To ensure a fair and balanced representation of the global hotel scene, the Academy is organized into 13 geographical regions, each chaired by an expert well-versed in their area’s travel landscape. These Chairs carefully select voting panels from their respective regions, maintaining a mix of industry professionals and discerning travelers. Notably, at least 25% of the voting panel is refreshed annually to infuse new perspectives into the evaluation process. This rigorous selection mechanism distinguishes the awards from other travel recognitions that may be influenced by popularity or marketing campaigns.

Emma Sleight, Head of Content for The World’s 50 Best Hotels, commented on the new extended list: “As we enter our third year, we are delighted to honour even more of the world’s most outstanding hotels with the extended 51-100 list. The dedication and passion of the hotel industry mean it is constantly growing and improving, so it is tough for our judges to vote for just seven properties, resulting in just 50 of the world’s best being named. From this year and beyond, we will be able to showcase an even larger pool of hotels and territories and celebrate the exceptional teams who bring them to reality with the extended list.”

Bali’s inclusion in the list is marked by two notable entries. Desa Potato Head in Seminyak secured an impressive 18th place overall. In addition to its ranking, Desa Potato Head earned the distinguished Best Eco-Hotel Award for 2025, setting the benchmark for environmentally conscious hospitality on the island. Situated just steps from the beach, Desa Potato Head offers a unique blend of modern accommodation, art installations, a vibrant beach club, sound stages, a library, and concept stores. The hotel is known for fostering a creative and inclusive environment that attracts globetrotters, creatives, and locals alike. Its community-oriented approach means that visitors staying elsewhere on the island can still enjoy the resort’s facilities and atmosphere.

The second Bali standout is Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, which made its debut in 50th place. Located in Ubud, Mandapa is revered for its serene setting and exemplary bespoke service. The resort features 35 suites and 25 villas, each equipped with private pools. Guests are treated to personalized attention from dedicated butlers, known locally as patih, enhancing the overall luxury experience.

These rankings and recognitions reflect Bali’s thriving hospitality sector and its growing reputation for excellence and sustainability. Travelers seeking world-class accommodations with unique cultural and environmental values can look forward to what these Bali properties offer.

The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2025 list celebrates not only the finest accommodations but also the people and values that help shape exceptional travel experiences around the world. With Bali’s presence firmly established on this global stage, the island’s allure as a destination continues to strengthen heading into the future.
