Five Chinese Nationals Killed and Eight Injured in Bali Minibus Crash

A tragic road accident in northern Bali has claimed the lives of five Chinese nationals and left eight others injured. The incident occurred on Friday in the Buleleng regency, authorities confirmed, involving a minibus transporting 13 Chinese citizens.

According to a statement released by China’s consulate on the Indonesian island, the minibus driver, an Indonesian national, lost control of the vehicle while driving through the region. The driver reportedly veered off the paved road, crashing into a community garden and subsequently hitting a tree.

Buleleng’s police chief, Ida Bagus Widwan Sutadi, provided further details on the crash, attributing the accident to the driver’s lack of caution during a turn and descent on the road. "Due to the driver’s lack of caution when turning and descending, he veered off the asphalt road and into a community garden, causing a traffic accident," he said.

The driver sustained minor injuries and has been taken into police custody following the incident. Emergency services promptly responded to the crash location, administering aid to the injured and clearing the wreckage from the scene.
