Tourist Visits to Tanah Lot See a Large Increase During Lebaran Holidays

Share This Post:

Tanah Lot is still one of the favorite tourist destinations on the island. Reports are in that say tourists going to the tourist destination area (DTW) at Beraban Village, Tabanan, increased 40 percent during the Lebaran holidays. Many buses and private and commercial vehicles have been seen in the parking areas of Tanah Lot since early morning till late at night and the traffic to and from has been out of this world.

Tanah Lot DTW Operational Manager, I Ketut Toya Adnyana, said that the increase has been notable since Monday. The visits on Monday reached 10,654 tourists, on Tuesday 11,926, and 13,818 tourists visited Tanah Lot on Wednesday.

“The number of tourist visits on the first day of Lebaran, Wednesday, reached 13,818 tourists, which consisted of 9,768 domestic tourists and 4,050 foreign tourists,” he said to baliexpress.com.

“The increase in numbers at present is 40 percent more than the usual day at the site,” he added.

He predicted that the number would keep increasing over the next few days. “We predict that the numbers will continue up until the official Lebaran holidays are over on Sunday,” he explained.

He said that the visits were dominated by domestic tourists on their Lebaran holidays.

It would appear that the present traffic snarl around town will continue until most of the Javanese and other island visitors head home around Sunday this weekend. Petitenget, over the past few nights, has been packed with cars until around 11 pm. No one can be sure, but we would imagine that the same traffic will continue tonight and Saturday night.
