Kintamani, Bali Introduces New E-Ticketing System to Enhance Tourist Experience

Kintamani, Bali – The scenic region of Kintamani, located in Bali’s central highlands and known as the gateway to Mount Batur and Lake Batur, has recently rolled out a new electronic ticketing system aimed at fundamentally improving the travel experience for visitors. This move spearheaded by the Bangli Regency Tourism and Culture Office serves to enhance transparency, convenience, and visitor confidence in the mandatory entry fee process for this popular tourist destination.

Mandatory Entry Fee and Visitor Concerns

Kintamani has grown significantly in popularity due to its breathtaking natural beauty and growing tourism infrastructure, attracting travelers worldwide. However, many visitors, particularly international tourists, have been unaware of a mandatory entry fee required to access the Kintamani tourist area. The fee is set at IDR 50,000 for international visitors and IDR 30,000 for children.

The fees are collected at official entry points managed by the Bangli Regency Tourism and Culture Office, including well-known spots like the Geopark Gate at Penelokan Village. Despite these measures, travelers frequently voiced confusion and skepticism regarding the legitimacy of the fees. This was largely due to the payment receipts lacking official logos or government-issued branding, which led some to question whether they were being subject to unofficial charges or scams.

Introducing the New E-Ticketing System

To address these concerns, the Bangli Regency Tourism and Culture Office introduced an official e-ticketing system on August 17, 2025. This digital system provides visitors with official proof of payment featuring the Bangli Regency Tourism Office’s logo and the tagline “The Original of Bali” alongside a dedicated destination link. This advancement not only establishes clear authenticity but also serves as a marketing tool that informs tourists about the region’s attractions.

The e-ticket system streamlines access to Kintamani’s tourist zone, offering a more transparent and efficient entry procedure. Visitors can now receive verified digital tickets as proof of payment, increasing trust and helping promote the area’s unique offerings to a broader audience.

Expanding Tourism and Attractions in Kintamani

Once primarily known as a stopover for hikers ascending Mount Batur, Kintamani has evolved into a premier destination with a variety of attractions. Besides the famous volcanic and lake views, popular sites such as the Geopark Museum and Penglipuran Village have drawn increasing attention, each requiring separate entrance or activity fees.

These upscale yet affordable options provide travelers with a chance to enjoy the region’s stunning sunrise views over Mount Batur without undertaking strenuous hikes.

Glamping: A Distinctive Experience

Kintamani’s glamping sites have rapidly become a sought-after experience. Starting at approximately USD 20 per night, these accommodations blend comfort with awe-inspiring natural settings, making them accessible to many travelers.
