New Entry Requirement for Bali Tourists: Mandatory All Indonesia App and Tourist Levy

Effective from September 1, 2025, international visitors traveling to Bali and other parts of Indonesia are required to download and use the new "All Indonesia" mobile application before arrival. This initiative aims to simplify and expedite the immigration, customs, health, and quarantine procedures for travelers entering Indonesia.

Streamlining Arrival Procedures with Technology

The Indonesian government has introduced the All Indonesia app to integrate and digitalize the arrival process. Tourists arriving at major points of entry, including Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Banten, Juanda Airport in East Java, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali, and Batam Port in the Riau Islands, must complete relevant immigration, customs, health, and quarantine forms electronically through the app.

The Acting Director General of Immigration, Yuldi Yusman, emphasized that the app offers a safer, faster, and more convenient experience for all passengers, including individuals, groups, the elderly, children, and persons with disabilities. The forms can be completed up to three days prior to arrival or upon landing at the airport, free of charge.

“This application is not only about convenience, but also about protecting our country. Every data you provide helps ensure the security, health, and integrity of our borders,” Yusman stated.

Mandatory Tourist Levy to Preserve Bali’s Culture and Environment

In addition to the digital entry requirements, Bali’s provincial government has reasserted a compulsory tourist levy of 150,000 Indonesian Rupiah (approximately $10 USD). This levy contributes toward the preservation of Bali’s cultural heritage, environment, and tourism infrastructure.

Tourists can pay the levy electronically before arrival via online platforms or upon arrival at designated counters. Authorized hotels and tour operators also facilitate payment. Compliance with this levy is mandatory for all international visitors to Bali.

What Tourists Need to Do Before Visiting Bali

  • Download the All Indonesia App: Available for smartphones, tourists must install the app and complete the required forms (immigration, customs, health, quarantine) within three days before their flight or upon arrival.
  • Prepare Arrival Information Digitally: Accurate digital submission of necessary entry forms is mandatory for processing immigration and health protocols efficiently.
  • Pay the Tourist Levy: Ensure payment of the 150,000 IDR levy through the available methods to help support sustainable tourism in Bali.
