Turyapada Tower Set to Become a Premier Tourist Attraction in Bali with New Gondola and Enhanced Facilities

Bali, Indonesia – October 5, 2025

The Turyapada Tower, perched in the Bedugul Highlands of Bali, Indonesia, is rapidly gaining recognition as a significant new landmark destined to become a major tourist attraction. Officially launched in August 2025, the tower rises approximately 115 meters tall and is situated 1,636 meters above sea level. Offering panoramic, breathtaking views of Bali’s Buleleng region, the tower is envisioned as both a world-class tourist destination and an essential telecommunications hub.

A Tower with Dual Purpose: Tourism and Telecommunications

Initially conceived to improve 3G telecommunications coverage for the northern Bali regions of Buleleng, Karangasem, and Jembrana, the Turyapada Tower has evolved into a multifaceted project. It supports over 22 local television stations and is expected to accommodate at least 10 additional broadcasters by 2028. With an initial investment estimated at IDR 418 billion, the tower aspires to emulate iconic structures like Tokyo Tower in Japan and the Eiffel Tower in Paris, rapidly becoming a cultural and communication landmark for Bali.

Phase One: Creating a Free, Accessible Viewing Experience

The first phase focuses on the development of a public observation deck, allowing visitors to admire sweeping views of surrounding green hills, flowering fields, and quaint villages stretching as far as the Tabanan Regency. The lookout is designed to be visitor-friendly, featuring light amenities aimed at comfort and convenience.

Visitors can access the tower free of charge, but entry requires advance booking through the official Turyapada Tower website. The visiting schedule runs two daily sessions from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., each lasting two hours. Both group and private tours are available, guided by professional staff dedicated to enriching the visitor experience.

Expanding the Experience: Gondola and Additional Attractions

Phase two of the project is already underway, backed by a budget of IDR 270 billion. A key highlight is the introduction of a 1.1-kilometer gondola system, expected to be operational by August 2026. This gondola will provide immersive aerial views of Bali’s stunning landscape, offering a unique and memorable mode of transport for visitors.

Alongside the gondola, plans include the construction of new restaurants, community spaces, and retail outlets. Within the tower itself, new exhibits and attractions are being developed to provide a comprehensive cultural experience that showcases Bali’s rich local heritage alongside natural beauty.

Governor Wayan Koster emphasized the project’s commitment to preserving Bali’s environmental charm by integrating local flora and fauna into the landscaping. Additional relaxation areas will allow tourists to unwind and connect intimately with nature.

Strategic Importance for Bali’s Tourism and Infrastructure

The Turyapada Tower represents a strategic effort to diversify Bali’s tourism landscape beyond the heavily trafficked southern coastlines such as Ubud and Kuta. Positioned in the cooler Bedugul Highlands, the tower aims to redistribute tourism benefits to northern Bali’s local businesses and communities.

Beyond tourism, the tower serves a critical role in enhancing Bali’s telecommunications infrastructure. While other towers operate within the region, the Turyapada Tower stands out as both a technological asset and a tourist centerpiece.

A Destination Surrounded by Cultural and Natural Treasures

Visitors to the Turyapada Tower can also explore a spectrum of nearby attractions including the renowned Bali Botanic Garden, the Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, and Beratan Lake – all nestled within a scenic, temperate mountain environment.

The forthcoming gondola will further improve connectivity, making access to these sites more seamless and enjoyable. By blending modern infrastructure with cultural significance and natural beauty, the Turyapada Tower is set to become one of Bali’s foremost attractions, drawing tourists from around the globe.

With its unique combination of telecommunications function, breathtaking vistas, and expanding visitor amenities, the Turyapada Tower signifies an exciting chapter in Bali’s continuing evolution as a world-class destination. Visitors anticipating the addition of the gondola system and extended facilities have much to look forward to in the coming years.
