Bhayangkari Cabang Karangasem Ranting Abang Hosts Successful Harvest Event to Support Food Security Program

Abang, Karangasem – February 15, 2025 – In a significant initiative aimed at bolstering food security, Bhayangkari Cabang Karangasem Ranting Abang held a harvest event on Saturday, February 15, 2025. The activity took place at the front yard of the Abang Sub-District Police Headquarters (Mako Polsek Abang), located in Banjar Dinas Abang Kelod, Desa Abang, Kecamatan Abang. The event was presided over by Ny. Widi Susiawan, the Chairwoman of Bhayangkari Ranting Abang.

The harvest commenced at 10:00 WITA and featured a significant turnout, including the presence of the Vice Chairwoman, Ny. Grace Tangkas Bagiasna, along with several board members and members of Bhayangkari Ranting Abang. The event reflected a community-oriented approach to sustainable agriculture, utilizing a productive 2 are piece of land owned by Polsek Abang, which has been transformed into a nutritious garden.

A variety of crops were harvested during the event, showcasing the diversity of produce cultivated in the community garden. Among the harvested items were eggplants (both purple and green varieties), tomatoes, chili peppers, papaya, bananas, and cassava leaves. This endeavor aligns with the national initiatives outlined in the Asta Cita program of the Government of Indonesia, focusing particularly on enhancing the country’s food sovereignty and security.

Ny. Widi Susiawan expressed her commitment to the project, stating, “We, Bhayangkari Ranting Abang, stand ready to support the government’s program in achieving food self-sufficiency. We will continue to cultivate this nutritious yard to maximize our harvests.”
