“International Tourists CA (26) and AC (36) Captured Attempting Escape: Salon Assault in Bali Leads to Dramatic Airport Arrest!
In a sensational turn of events, two foreign nationals, identified as CA (26) from the United States and AC (36) from the United Kingdom, were apprehended while trying to flee to Thailand after assaulting salon employees in Kerobokan Kelod, North Kuta, Badung, Bali.
The Head of Public Relations for Bali Regional Police, Commissioner Jansen Avitus Panjaitan, revealed that the two female tourists were caught at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Badung, Bali, on Saturday (12/16/2023) around 22:30 WITA.
“The suspects were successfully intercepted as they were about to depart for Thailand,” he stated in a press release on Monday (12/18/2023).
The police detained Andrea CW from the UK and Chansler A from the USA, who wreaked havoc on beauty salon staff in North Kuta, Badung, Bali. The incident allegedly began when the disgruntled tourists expressed dissatisfaction with the salon’s prices.
“So, the motive is that the perpetrators were dissatisfied with the salon’s treatment prices. A commotion ensued,” explained Deputy Chief of Badung Police, Commissioner I Made Pramasetia, at the Badung Police Station, as reported by detikBali on Monday (12/18/2023).
The altercation involving the two foreign nationals at Ombre Nails Studio in Bali on Thursday (12/14) went viral on social media. Pramasetia stated that the dispute originated when one of the perpetrators refused to pay the nail care fee of IDR 930,000, despite the salon pricing it for the variety of services provided.
At that moment, Chansler from the USA received the nail treatment, while Andrea CW from the UK was making the payment. Initially, Chansler opted for a treatment package priced at IDR 600,000, but additional services led to a total bill of IDR 930,000.
According to Pramasetia, the two foreign nationals objected to the billing amount, even though the additional costs were communicated from the beginning regarding extra treatment charges. The argument escalated into physical assault against the salon staff after the tourists felt the pricing was too high.
Pramasetia explained that the salon staff then offered a discounted price of IDR 810,000, but the perpetrators only paid around IDR 700,000. Due to the assailants’ actions, the cashier staff suffered injuries to the arm and abdomen as their clothing was pulled by the perpetrators. Despite their attempts to leave Bali, immigration officials at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport detained them on Saturday night (12/16).”
