The incident occurred at the Clandestino Hostel in Canggu, a popular area among travelers seeking affordable accommodations. A Chinese tourist, identified only as Miss Y, collapsed on September 1st after suddenly experiencing violent vomiting and chills. Despite medical efforts, she unfortunately succumbed to her illness.
Authorities reported that Miss Y fell seriously ill just days after the hostel underwent fumigation due to multiple complaints about bed bugs infesting its six-person dormitory rooms. The pest control measures, intended to eradicate the infestation, seemingly failed to prevent further health hazards.
In addition to Miss Y’s death, ten other guests reported symptoms including vomiting blood and were promptly hospitalized for urgent medical treatment.
