Bali Welcomes Record-Breaking 697,000 Foreign Tourists in July 2025

Bali has achieved a new milestone in international tourism with a record 697,107 foreign tourist arrivals reported in July 2025, marking the highest monthly figure recorded so far this year. This data, released by the Bali office of Statistics Indonesia, reflects a significant surge in visitors to the popular Indonesian island destination.

The figure for July 2025 represents a 9.29 percent increase compared to June’s tally of 637,868 arrivals. Moreover, it marks an 11.42 percent year-on-year increase from the 625,665 tourists who visited Bali in July 2024. The steady growth highlights Bali’s continued appeal and resurgence as a top travel destination.

Cumulative visitor numbers for the first seven months of 2025 also saw substantial growth, with Bali receiving a total of nearly 3.98 million international tourists from January through July. This total stands as a 12.46 percent increase compared to the same period last year, underscoring strong ongoing demand for Bali’s unique blend of natural beauty, cultural richness, and hospitality.

Among the leading sources of tourists in July were China and India. Chinese visitors topped the list with 59,651 arrivals, while India contributed a significant 45,288 travelers to Bali’s record tourism numbers. Tourism experts attribute the rise in arrivals partly to seasonal factors, including school holidays in northern hemisphere winter and heatwave conditions in several countries, which have motivated many travelers to seek the island’s temperate climate and scenic attractions.

Bali’s tourism sector is a vital component of Indonesia’s economy, and the strong performance in July 2025 is regarded as a positive indicator for the travel and hospitality industry’s recovery and expansion. The island’s ability to attract a growing number of international visitors reflects successful marketing efforts, improved travel accessibility, and continued investment in tourism infrastructure.

As Bali welcomes an increasing number of foreign tourists, local businesses and communities are poised to benefit from the economic opportunities presented. At the same time, authorities are encouraged to maintain sustainable tourism practices to preserve the island’s environment and cultural heritage for future generations.
