Ariel Noah Appointed Tourism Ambassador for Tabanan, Bali Ahead of City’s 532nd Anniversary

Tabanan, Bali – November 2, 2025

In a move to boost tourism and promote the cultural richness of Tabanan, Bali, the district’s head, I Komang Gede Sanjaya, has named Nazril Irham, better known as Ariel from the popular Indonesian band NOAH, as the official tourism ambassador for the region. The announcement coincided with the inauguration of the Singasana Fun Run, marking the beginning of Tabanan’s 532nd anniversary celebrations held on Sunday at Taman Bung Karno.

The appointment of Ariel Noah is a strategic effort by local authorities to attract more visitors to Tabanan, leveraging the musician’s national fame and charismatic presence. Addressing attendees at the event, Sanjaya expressed optimism that Ariel’s involvement will elevate tourism interest and promote Tabanan’s unique attractions.

“By choosing Ariel Noah as our tourism ambassador, we hope to increase visitor numbers significantly,” Sanjaya said, introducing the Fun Run event with the traditional Balinese chant, “Om Awighnam Astu Nama Sidham.”

The anniversary celebration, themed “Mula Jayaning Singasana,” featured notable Indonesian celebrities including Christian Sugiono and Titi Kamal, who participated in festivities alongside locals. Sanjaya conveyed his gratitude toward the participating artists and community members for their support.

Ariel Noah himself shared his enthusiasm for Tabanan’s vibrant community and natural beauty, stating, “It’s my first time joining a Fun Run here, and the energy is incredible. The people are friendly, and the atmosphere is very positive.” He highlighted Tabanan’s diverse landscape, praising its beaches, mountains, and favorable climate as key assets for tourism development. “Tabanan has a perfect combination of beauty, climate, and hospitality. I hope more Indonesians come to experience it firsthand,” he added.

The month-long celebration will culminate on November 29 and comprises a series of social, cultural, and environmental activities aimed at fostering community spirit and stable growth. Scheduled events include city cleanups, tree planting campaigns, sidewalk painting projects, home renovations, and vibrant cultural festivals, all designed to strengthen unity and promote healthy living among residents.

The Singasana Fun Run officially kicked off with a ceremonial flag-raising by I Komang Gede Sanjaya, accompanied by his wife, Rai Wahyuni Sanjaya, and other local officials. The ceremony also featured the symbolic release of 500 balloon clusters colored in the traditional Balinese tridatu hues—red, white, and black—and the flight of 32 birds, symbolizing both the festivity and Tabanan’s 32 villages.

Local micro, small, and medium enterprises played an active role in the celebration, contributing to the economic vitality of Tabanan during the festival.

“The anniversary events are more than just celebrations; they represent our shared pride in the region and our responsibility toward its future,” Sanjaya remarked.

This appointment and the anniversary festivities come amid ongoing efforts to elevate Tabanan’s profile, including initiatives to attain UNESCO Creative City status and nurture youth involvement in cultural regeneration.

As the tourism ambassador, Ariel Noah is expected to serve as a prominent figure promoting Tabanan’s cultural heritage and tourism potential across Indonesia and beyond, encouraging visitors to explore the district’s natural beauty and warm hospitality.
