The search engine published its list of most frequently searched keywords and questions of 2016, Wednesday, December 14. This year, it seems that the location of the Indonesian island of Bali has been a subject of particular interest among American web users.

Google has revealed the top 10 travel questions most frequently asked by American users. Coming top of the list is “where is Bali”. The geographical location of Bali — a Hindu island found between the islands of Java and Lombok in the Indonesian archipelago — appears to have piqued the interest of web users in the USA.

In fourth place, “Where is Corfu?” proved another popular question for American travelers this year. A trendy European destination in 2016, the Greek island is located in the Ionian Sea, unlike other well-known island hotspots like Santorini.

The location of Bora Bora, in French Polynesia (sixth), and the Grand Canyon (tenth) complete the list of geography-based travel questions.
Other questions in the top 10 focus on activities within the USA. Las Vegas is clearly still a destination that interests many US travelers, with “what to do” in Sin City proving the second most frequently asked question.
