Australian Tourist Fatally Shot in Bali Villa: Police Launch Manhunt for Suspects

DENPASAR, Indonesia — In a tragic incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, Indonesian authorities have confirmed that an Australian tourist was shot dead at a luxury villa near Munggu Beach on Bali’s popular Badung coast. The attack took place shortly after midnight on Friday and has prompted a manhunt for two suspects, both believed to be Australian nationals.

Incident Details

The victim, identified as 32-year-old Zivan Radmanovic from Melbourne, was found shot in the bathroom of Villa Casa Santisya. Another Australian, aged 34, also from Melbourne, sustained severe injuries after being beaten. Badung Police Chief Arif Batubara confirmed the active investigation into the incident, stating, "We cannot yet determine the motive."

According to preliminary reports, police discovered 17 bullet casings and two intact rounds at the scene, supporting the grim accounts of witnesses. The villa was reportedly occupied by five guests at the time of the attack, including both victims, their wives, and another foreign tourist.

Ongoing Investigation

The Australian Consulate in Bali has been notified of the incident, and an autopsy on Radmanovic’s body is pending family approval, according to Batubara. However, authorities have not yet disclosed any information regarding whether the suspects managed to flee the island or if they are still in Bali.

The shocking nature of this crime has raised numerous questions, and officials emphasize that they are working tirelessly to uncover the motives behind the attack and apprehend those responsible.
