Tragic Shooting in Bali Claims One Life; Another Injured

Bali, Indonesia – June 14, 2025 – A shooting at a popular tourist destination in Bali has left one man dead and another injured early Saturday morning. The incident occurred at Villa Casa Santisya in the Munggu area of the Badung regency, a well-known locale for vacationers seeking relaxation and stunning scenery.

Victims Identified

Authorities have identified the deceased victim as Zivan Radmanovic, a 32-year-old resident of Melbourne, Australia. The second victim, also from Melbourne, is Sanar Ghanim, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is currently hospitalized, according to reports from 9News.

Radmanovic’s wife, Gourdeas Jazmyn, was present at the villa during the incident. Authorities have indicated that she was asleep in her room when she was awoken by the sound of her husband screaming, leading her to witness the tragic event unfold.

Investigation Underway

Badung Police Chief Arif Batubara confirmed that officials are investigating the shooting but have yet to determine a motive or identify any suspects. "At the moment we’re still investigating the case and working on the crime scene and trying to find witnesses," Batubara stated during a press briefing, urging patience as more information is gathered. "We’re collecting information in the field now because we’ve just received this information this morning."

Eyewitness Accounts

Witnesses described seeing two men with “thick Australian accents” fleeing the scene on motorcycles shortly after the shooting occurred. One suspect was reportedly wearing a bright orange jacket with a black helmet, while the other had on a green jacket, a dark mask, and a dark helmet.

A fellow guest at the villa, identified as Daniela, reported hearing what sounded like an explosion and saw the man in green attempting to enter her room before she fled in fear as gunshots rang out nearby.

Assistance Offered

In response to the incident, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) stated they are providing support to Radmanovic’s family. A spokesperson expressed condolences, stating, "We send our deepest condolences to the family at this difficult time. DFAT stands ready to provide consular assistance to another Australian injured in the same incident."

As the investigation continues, the local community and international observers are left grappling with the shock of this tragic occurrence in a region renowned for its hospitality and tranquility.
