Shooting Incident Leaves One Man Dead and Another Injured at Bali Villa

BALI, INDONESIA — A tragic shooting at a villa on the Indonesian island of Bali has resulted in the death of one Australian national and serious injuries to another. The incident occurred early Saturday morning, June 14, at Villa Casa Santisya in the Badung regency, a popular tourist destination.

Victims Identified

The victims have been identified as Zivan Radmanovic, 33, who was pronounced dead at the scene, and Sanar Ghanim, 35, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Reports indicate Ghanim was shot seven times and was transported to a hospital in Denpasar, the provincial capital, where he is currently receiving medical care.

Circumstances of the Shooting

According to local police and various news outlets, the shooting took place around 12:15 a.m. Indonesian local time. Radmanovic’s wife, Gourdeas Jazmyn, 30, was present in the villa at the time of the shooting. She reportedly witnessed the horrific incident from her bedroom.

Jazmyn described hearing her husband scream before she covered her eyes with a blanket while watching through a small opening. She later saw a man in a bright orange jacket shoot her husband in the bathroom. In the moments that followed, she heard Ghanim’s screams as well. After witnessing the assailant flee, she rushed to assist Ghanim, attempting to apply pressure to his wounds.

Another witness staying at the villa, identified only as Daniela, reported waking up to loud noises that she initially thought were explosions. She claimed to have seen the suspect in a green jacket attempting to enter her room, prompting her to flee from the premises.

Investigation Underway

Police have initiated an investigation into the shooting but have yet to identify any suspects or ascertain a motive. They are actively seeking eyewitness accounts and information from the public. Reports have indicated that the two suspects, who were seen fleeing the scene on scooters, spoke with thick Australian accents. Witnesses described one suspect wearing an orange jacket and the other in a green jacket with a mask.
