Often humorously dubbed as a much hotter city compared to sunny Jakarta, Bekasi in West Java has opened an indoor park filled with snowflakes and a ski arena, called Trans Snow World.
Located on the third floor of the Transpark Mall Juanda property complex, the 2,000-square-meter park offers plenty of activities for families, including snowboarding, snowball making, skiing and riding on ski chair lifts. Visitors can rent various items to complement their activities, among them are snow scooters, ski gear, double snow tubes and sledges with prices starting from Rp 30,000 ($2.11).
According to the park’s official website, the snowflakes are real and made from “a special machine”, while the temperature inside the park ranges from 10 to 15 degrees Celsius.
Having commenced operations on March 25, the park is located around 100 meters from the East Bekasi train station and it can be reached using the commuter line and car. Ticket prices start at Rp 200,000 ($14.06) on weekdays and Rp 275,000 ($19.33) on weekends. Visit the park’s official website for more information.
