Police collect data on stores in Bali selling cyanide

Share This Post:

Cyanide is the latest weapon of choice Indonesian police are buzzing about that could be deployed by terrorists.

Earlier this week, Bali Police warned its ranks, along with the public that we need to be careful of accepting food and drinks from unfamiliar sources because terrorists could—wait for it—be slipping cyanide in. Damn terrorists!
But this is a serious national security concern, as National Police Chief General Badrodin Haiti has reportedly circulated a letter on the threat of the use of cyanide.

Following said letter, Bali Police have instructed members to be more vigilant with collecting data on stores on the island that sell the poison.
“We’ve also collected data from farming and chemical drug stores in Bali that sell the goods (cyanide),” Bali Police spokesman Hery Wiyanto told Tribun Bali on Thursday.

Raising public awareness about the threat of cyanide is also high on police’s to-do list, Wiyanto said.

The cyanide threat is not just in Bali. Indonesian coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Security Luhut Pandjaitan on Monday confirmed the threat as well, saying that ISIS associated terrorists were now attempting to use cyanide to spread terror, inspired by the cyanide coffee murder case in Jakarta.
