Ayana Resort & Spa in Jimbaran has applied an interesting rule for visitors to one of their resort pools. You could call it the pool of tranquility.
As part of their “In The Moment” campaign, guests who are at the River Pool, a two-tiered river stone pool located in Ayana’s Cliff Villa area, are prohibited from activating phones and other devices while sunbathing or passing through.
“Our intention is to preserve who we are by valuing human connection and me-time,” said a spokesman for Ayana Resort & Spa Bali, as quoted by Lonely Planet in Kompas this morning. “The ethos of the River Pool Ayana Resort & Spa Bali itself is said to be a location that provides excitement and a place for guests to really relax.”
To support the “In The Moment” campaign, the resort has installed signage and lockers to store guests’ gadgets and valuables.
The resort promises their guests there will be no calls, no texts and no social media activity in the vicinity for those who choose to sunbath next to the River Pool. “It is a haven for guests”. The resort also provides a variety of conventional games such as cards, jenga, sudoku, and chess to help people keep busy while offline.
However, if guests still want to capture photos and videos in the pool area it is fine to bring your device from 7am to 9am and 5pm to 7pm every day, which of course is the best moment to capture the sunrise and sunset.
