Jember Fashion Carnival Comes Back, Now in Bali

The Jember Fashion Carnival (JFC) is back, but this year held in Kuta, Bali, from September 29 to October 1, 2017.

JFC presents in two shows, at 4 pm and 8 pm local time, with more than 43 costumes displayed from 108 participants .

Each costume showed is made directly by the talent or their family from Jakarta, Bali, Toraja, Borneo, Sriwijaya, and many others. Marketing Communication Manager of Lippo Mall Kuta, Hendra Darmawan, said the Jember Fashion Carnaval was invited to Lippo Mall Kuta to promote Indonesian culture.

“We strongly believe that Bali is the window of Indonesia. We introduce Indonesia through Bali with Jember Fashion Carnaval. JFC presents a very thick costume and deeply reflects Indonesia,” Hendra said.

In addition, JFC is also held to introduce Avenue of the Star at Lippo Mall Kuta which is a hangout spot for both domestic and foreign tourists, with capacity of 400 visitors where live music held every day.

Making Jember the world’s number one carnival city like Rio de Janeiro became the next step for career achievement of Dynand Fariz, designer and initiator of JFC. Had successfully held a carnival in Jember regularly in the last 16 years, Dynand Fariz now have a dream to lift the festival he found to the international scene.

“The next goal is making Jember the world’s number one carnival city. The presence of JFC in Bali to attract tourists to Jember, as well as the JFC promo show,” Dynand Fariz said, Friday (9/29/2017), in Bali.

Currently JFC has been recognized as the world’s third largest carnival festival, after NottingHill in the United States and Reunion, France. JFC held annually in Jember, East Java, involves no less than 2,000 personnel who act on the 2 km length runway.
