The Bogor Botanical Gardens was visited by a record-breaking 28,700 people on the third day of Idul Fitri celebrations.

“It is the highest number in the last five years,” said Rosniati Apriani Risna, head of the botanical gardens’ information center and collaboration department, told Antara.

She added that the number was dominated by local tourists, the number of which reached 28,678 people, with a mere 36 foreigners. On Idul Fitri, which fell on June 15, 3,540 local tourists were recorded. The number tripled on Saturday to 16,022 people.

The garden has prepared facilities to serve visitors during the long holiday. “We have added ticket booths, installed CCTV cameras, revitalized the thematic gardens and repaired the small roads. We also provide free Wi-Fi across the gardens,” Risna said.

Management also prepared additional officers for ticketing and security, while providing health workers and ambulances. “We want to make sure visitors feel safe and comfortable during their holiday,” she said.
