Bali Travellers to Pay Extra $2 as Airport Taxes Increase

Share This Post:

Darwinites travelling to Bali will be charged an extra $2 in airport taxes. Aussies already pay a tax of Rp 200,000 (about $18), which is included in the cost of plane tickets.

From the start of the new year, there will be a small increase in how much international travellers are taxed in the Passenger Service Charge.

From January 1, international travellers will pay a Rp 225,000 (about $20) PSC.

“To improve our service to customers, a new international Passenger Service Charge in I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport – Bali will be applied for tickets issued on and after January 1st 2018,” reads a sign at Bali’s airport.

The charge will continue to be collected with travellers’ ticket issuance.

Travellers who were issued a ticket before January 1, 2018, will be charged the old rate. If travellers need to change their travel dates, or have their tickets reissued for any reason, the new rate will be charged.

The Indonesian Government will still allow Australians to travel to Bali on visa-free short visits (30 days).
