Bali-Japan relations must run sustainably. It does not only take place in tourism, but also in other fields. With a long historical background, the relationship between Bali and Japan must be sustainable. It is the essence of meeting organized by the Denpasar-Fukuoka Brotherhood taking place at Bali Coffee Warung 63 on Jalan Veterans no long ago.

“It does not only cover the Denpasar area but also the region across Bali. The field does not only include tourism, culture, and education but if possible it can be further expanded by generations or other community components,” said the senior figure of the brotherhood, I Gusti Kompyang Pujawan.

All this time, explained Nagaoka Shoji, a lot has been done but it must be sustainable. When looking back, continued the man who is now also expanding the cooperation to the early child education (PAUD), after the implementation of several agendas such as education, some teachers, students, and other academicians are given the opportunity to study in Japan for free. In the field of culture, the Brotherhood members are invited and participated in the Dontaku Festival in Fukuoka for several times.

Meanwhile, Prof. Rumawan Salain commented that what has been carried out by this nonprofit institution is certainly monitored by the government. “We are very much supported by the Denpasar city government and by the Japanese government through its General Consulate in Denpasar,” he said.

This moral support is very important considering the mission carried out is a universal matter for the advancement of both parties. “Every cultural event held by the Consulate, we are always invited and vice versa,” said Rumawan who is an architect.

As a Japanese citizen in Bali, Nagaoka Shoji also sees the movement of this institution is very positive by cooperating with various groups to bridge the two sides. “Obviously, this institution will continuously participate in the progress of both parties. Bali-Japan, Denpasar-Fukuoka has a long history. We will continuously write with everything that we hope to bring in better thing,” concluded Pujawan.
