Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika inaugurated the Samskriti Sindhu Museum of World Culture at Anand Ashram, Ubud, Gianyar, Bali, on Sunday (14/01/2018). The museum highlights the development of the Hindu religion, which started from India.

“I call for people to visit this museum and learn about the development of Hinduism,” he said, as reported by Antara. The governor also added that the Balinese, as well as visitors from around the world, should learn about the Hindu civilization, which started thousands of years ago.

“The ashram has been able to build people’s quality of faith, especially in the understanding of life values. The ashram residents also give out an optimistic spirit,” Pastika said, referring to the existence of Anand Ashram in Bali, which has been the center of World Hindu Parisad.

The founder of Anand Ashram, Swami Anand Krishna, expressed his gratitude for the Bali governor’s attention to the Hindu people. The museum, he said, was a small contribution representing his love of Hinduism and its civilization.

Head of the Anand Ashram Foundation, Dr. Sayoga, said the 28-year-old foundation has been active in many spiritual, social, educational and humanitarian activities. He believes that understanding of the cultural and spiritual roots will help in forming peace and harmony.

The museum features many ancient artifacts from the Sindhu-Saraswati, or Indus, which has largely contributed to Western civilization, among others. Meanwhile, the ashram is an informal education center that concentrates on character building and application of life values.
