An annual charity event in support of UNICEF Check Out for Children Program
Bali, Indonesia – September 7, 2015 – The Laguna, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Nusa Dua, Bali will host an evening to remember in support of the UNICEF Check Out For Children Program on Friday, 30 October 2015 in collaboration with Indonesia’s young prodigy, violin virtuoso Fakhri Bagus Pratama.
The musical evening will begin with a private master class led by Fakhri from 5 PM to 6 PM, limited to 20 selected young and talented violin students from various music schools in Bali, where Fakhri will demonstrate some insightful knowledge including exclusive tips and tricks. The event will continue with the grand performance at the Balai Raya Ballroom at 7 PM to 8 PM, followed by a sumptuous buffet dinner at Banyubiru Restaurant highlighting international cuisine.
In line with the Global Citizenship Programme of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, The Laguna Bali undertakes this worthwhile initiative for raising additional funds for UNICEF. For 20 years UNICEF and Starwood Hotels and Resorts have been working together to raise funds for the world’s most vulnerable children – remarkably, over $25M has been raised since the program began. UNICEF Check Out For Children Challenge has become an immensely popular way to increase hotels’ support of the Check out for Children program as it unites hotel staff and guests under a common goal – to help children in need. Began in 1995, UNICEF Check Out for Children Challenge continues to gather strong support throughout Starwood Hotels and Resorts’ properties worldwide.
Born in Jakarta in 2000, Fakhri established his love for music from an early age. His talent was discovered by Indonesia’s legendary violin maestro, the late Idris Sardi, who then mentored Fakhri until his passing. Having showcased his talents in entertainment forums countrywide, he has also been the regular headlining act for official government events. Most recently he played at Indonesian embassy events in Vienna, Prague and Geneva.
Performing at the grand Balai Raya Ballroom, the one-hour performance will showcase a wide range of music from classical tunes to recent popular hits, including a duet with a local emerging talent, Wintang Pranaswari.
