Police Reveal Findings After Searching Bonnie Blue’s Phone Following Bali Arrest
Bonnie Blue, a well-known adult content creator whose real name is Tia Billinger, has been at the center of a scandal in Bali after her recent arrest. What began as a high-profile social media event quickly escalated into a legal issue involving accusations of illegal activities tied to pornography and immigration violations.
Arrest and Investigation Details
The arrest, which came after months of speculation following a staged arrest earlier this year, occurred while Billinger was reportedly filming explicit adult content alongside tourists in Indonesia. Authorities initially provided limited information, but subsequent official statements have shed light on the investigation.
Badung Police Chief confirmed that Billinger was detained on suspicion of engaging in “pornographic activities.” During their search, the police seized numerous items, including nine pink necklaces, condoms, multiple flash drives, several cameras, lubricants, two sheets of Viagra, and notably, the infamous Bang Bus vehicle along with its associated certificate. The Bang Bus, popularized as an adult entertainment icon, played a significant role in the investigation.
“We have handed the case over to Immigration for further investigation on alleged immigration violations. Our police work in coordination with immigration officials,” the police chief noted.
Visa Violations and Deportation
Billinger and several men arrested alongside her were reportedly in Bali on KITAS and tourist visas. The police allege that the group used these visas to work illegally by producing adult video content for profit—a violation of Indonesian law. However, no pornography shot in Bali was found on the confiscated devices.
Despite the severity of the accusations, Billinger will face deportation from Indonesia and a ten-year ban on entering the country. This outcome spares her from potentially harsher consequences, which could have included up to 15 years in prison and heavy fines.
Controversial Content Found on Digital Devices
A thorough search of Billinger’s phone and the phones of the arrested men revealed some personal content but did not provide clear evidence of commercial adult material filmed in Bali. Found on Billinger’s device were videos of her engaging in private sexual acts, which she explained were recorded for personal use during a stay at a hotel in Spain, not for distribution.
The police chief referenced Indonesian legislation, stating that “making for oneself” does not constitute pornography under Article 4 Paragraph (1) of Law Number 44 of 2008 concerning pornography, thus clarifying that these personal videos do not breach the law.
Additional Legal Violations
Authorities uncovered a separate legal issue involving the Bang Bus vehicle. Video evidence showed a man identified by the initials LAJ driving the Bang Bus with Bonnie Blue and other foreign nationals inside, despite not possessing an Indonesian driver’s license. Indonesian officials emphasized that both LAJ and Billinger lacked the necessary local licenses to operate such a vehicle.
“This constitutes a new crime related to driving a goods vehicle to transport people without proper authorization,” the police explained.
Next Steps
Following the conclusion of the investigation, Bonnie Blue is set to be deported to the United Kingdom, where she currently resides. The case highlights the strict enforcement of Indonesian laws on pornography, immigration, and vehicle regulations, especially when involving foreign nationals engaging in prohibited work activities while on tourist visas.
This incident has sparked conversations internationally about the challenges adult content creators face while working abroad and the legal complexities of creating explicit content in countries with stringent regulations.
