October 18, 2025

For the seventh year in a row, Bali has been honored as Asia’s Most Romantic Destination, reaffirming its status as a premier location for couples seeking an idyllic getaway. The announcement was made at the 32nd annual World Travel Awards (WTA) ceremony held in Hong Kong on October 13, 2025. ### Triumph Amidst Stiff Competition

This year, the category for Asia’s Most Romantic Destination featured three notable nominees: Bali from Indonesia, Ko Samui from Thailand, and Siem Reap from Cambodia. Bali emerged as the winner once again, marking a remarkable seventh consecutive victory in this prestigious category.

The island paradise did not stop there; Bali also secured the title of Asia’s Leading Wedding Destination for 2025. Competing against equally scenic spots such as Cebu in the Philippines, Ko Samui in Thailand, and Langkawi in Malaysia, Bali’s continued success highlights its enduring appeal as a top wedding and honeymoon destination.

About the World Travel Awards

WTA’s founder, Graham Cooke, remarked on the recent Asia & Oceania Gala Ceremony held in Hong Kong: “It has been a privilege to host our Asia & Oceania Gala Ceremony 2025 in Hong Kong – one of the world’s most iconic destinations. Tonight, we have celebrated the leading lights of travel across Asia and Oceania. Our winners represent the very best in tourism excellence, and I congratulate everyone for raising the benchmark of achievement across this remarkable region.”

Voting and Selection Process

The winners of the World Travel Awards are determined through votes cast by a broad range of industry professionals, including senior executives, travel buyers, tour operators, media, and the general public. Balloting employs a “first-past-the-post” system, where the nominee receiving the highest number of votes in a category is declared the winner.

Looking Ahead

Following the Asia & Oceania awards, the next WTA celebration focusing on European tourism is scheduled for October 22, 2025, in Sardinia, Italy.

Bali’s continued recognition as Asia’s Most Romantic Destination and Asia’s Leading Wedding Destination highlights its sustained excellence in delivering memorable experiences to travelers worldwide. With its breathtaking natural beauty, rich culture, and world-class hospitality, Bali remains a dream destination for couples and wedding celebrations alike.
