Two Suspects Detained in Killing of Australian Tourist in Bali

Denpasar, Indonesia – Indonesian authorities have arrested two suspects in connection with the fatal shooting of an Australian tourist on the popular resort island of Bali, National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo confirmed on Tuesday.

According to Chief Prabowo, one suspect is currently detained in Indonesia’s capital, Jakarta, while the other is being transported from overseas back to Indonesia under official supervision. “One of the suspects is now in Jakarta and while another one is traveling from abroad to Jakarta,” Prabowo told reporters, though he did not disclose further details about their identities or backgrounds.

The coordinated arrests were the result of a joint effort involving Indonesian police, immigration authorities, and the Australian Federal Police, highlighting the international cooperation in the investigation.

The incident occurred late Friday near Munggu Beach in the Badung district, a well-known area frequented by tourists. The victim, identified as 32-year-old Zivan Radmanovic from Melbourne, Australia, was shot inside a villa by assailants who witnesses described as two masked men arriving on a scooter around midnight. Alongside Radmanovic, another Australian tourist was reportedly assaulted during the incident.

Police officers were seen investigating the scene inside the villa shortly after the shooting took place, gathering evidence as the investigation continues.
