MANGUPURA, Bali – On Tuesday, January 21, 2024, Deputy Regent Ketut Suiasa welcomed a team from the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) of the Republic of Indonesia at a formal entry meeting held in Room Nayaka I at Puspem Badung. Collaborative Efforts

The entry meeting was attended by several officials, including Inspector Luh Suryaniti and representatives from the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) and the Regional Finance and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD). Suiasa expressed gratitude for the early evaluations being carried out, which have set a collaborative tone for the activities going forward. He stated that the alignment of these activities, particularly those large-scale programs initiated by the central government, requires careful planning and a solid support structure from the local government.

Suiasa elaborated on the significance of comprehensive evaluations and the necessity of building a systematic approach to intricate government programs, exemplifying this with the government’s initiative to provide free nutritious food (MBG). He underscored that such initiatives demand a robust and methodical framework supported by the local administration.

Insights from BPKP

Heru Tarsila, head of BPKP Bali, conveyed that in alignment with President Prabowo Subianto’s directives, BPKP has been tasked with evaluating the draft of the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) for 2025. He mentioned that the BPKP Bali Representative would likewise conduct evaluations across all provinces, regencies, and cities, ensuring comprehensive engagement without sampling. Discussions would heavily involve Bappeda and the Inspectorate to optimize the technical execution of these evaluations.

Tarsila expressed hopes that through the evaluations of local government planning and budgeting, discrepancies in synchronizing the programs laid out in RPJMN with the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) could be minimized. The discussions touched on critical areas like education, health, poverty alleviation, stunting, and tourism, among other essential programs. He emphasized the importance of extensive coordination between BPKP, local government, and relevant Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) to achieve their goals effectively.

This meeting signifies a proactive step in ensuring that the government of Badung aligns its initiatives with national priorities, aiming for a more integrated approach to development in the region as they move closer to the 2025 budgetary year.
