Two Arrested Following Fatal Shooting of Australian Man in Bali

Bali, Indonesia – June 17, 2025

Bali police have arrested two individuals in connection with a fatal shooting incident that claimed the life of an Australian man and seriously injured another in the island’s southern tourist area.

Details of the Incident

The victim, 32-year-old Zivan Radmanovic, was shot dead shortly after midnight on Saturday when assailants broke into his villa located in Munggu, near popular tourist destinations such as Kuta and Canggu in Badung district. Australian media reported that Mr. Radmanovic’s wife was awakened by her husband’s screams before discovering his body in the bathroom.

Alongside Mr. Radmanovic, 34-year-old Sanar Ghanim was also shot and suffered additional injuries from being beaten. He is currently receiving hospital treatment. Neither of the victims’ wives were harmed during the attack, with Mr. Ghanim’s wife later providing testimony identifying the attackers.

Suspects Apprehended

Authorities have confirmed the arrest of two suspects. One was taken into custody in Jakarta, Indonesia’s capital city, while the other was apprehended overseas; however, the police have withheld further details regarding the latter’s location. Bali police continue their investigation into the motive behind the shooting, though no additional information about the arrests has been disclosed as of Monday.

Crime Scene Evidence and Witness Accounts

Police collected a significant amount of ballistic evidence from the scene, including 17 bullet casings, two intact bullets, and 55 bullet fragments. Australian media have published images of the villa showing bullet holes in windows and bloodstains on the floor.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing the gunmen speak English with pronounced Australian accents. Descriptions of the suspects indicate that one wore an orange jacket with a dark helmet, and the other donned a dark green jacket, black mask, and dark helmet. Witnesses also reported hearing one attacker say, "I can’t start my bike," before eventually fleeing the scene on a scooter.

Background Information

Reports from Australian news outlets reveal that Mr. Ghanim was previously involved in a relationship with the step-daughter of the late Carl Williams, a notable figure in Melbourne’s criminal underworld. Additionally, he had previously served a jail term related to a non-fatal shooting incident in Melbourne in 2014. Victoria Police have acknowledged awareness of the Bali shooting and confirmed that their investigators would provide assistance to Indonesian authorities throughout the course of the investigation.
