TransNusa Airlines to Launch New International Route Connecting Bali and Perth in 2025

TransNusa Airlines has announced an exciting development for travelers looking to connect between Australia and Bali. The airline will introduce a new international flight route between Denpasar, Bali, and Perth, Australia, starting on March 20, 2025. This new service is aimed at accommodating the influx of Australian holidaymakers who favor Bali as their top travel destination.

Expanding Options for Australian Travelers

As the competition in the Australia-Bali air travel market intensifies, TransNusa Airlines is positioning itself as a viable option among established airlines such as Jetstar, AirAsia, and Virgin Australia. The introduction of the Denpasar-Perth route not only provides tourists with more choices but also focuses on affordability for those traveling on a budget.

Bayu Sutanto, President Director of TransNusa, expressed enthusiasm about the new route, stating, “We are very enthusiastic and proud to introduce this Denpasar-Perth route. This route is expected to have a positive impact on the tourism sector of both countries as well as being a proof of our focus and capability in the international eye.”

Commitment to Growth and Safety

TransNusa Airlines has experienced rapid growth over the past two years, and this new route exemplifies their commitment to expanding their international presence. Sutanto emphasized the airline’s dedication to providing “safe, comfortable, and affordable flight services for all passengers.”

Flight Details and Ticket Sales

The newly launched service will operate three times a week—on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays—during the initial weeks of operation. As demand typically increases, a fourth flight will be added every Tuesday starting April 12, 2024.

Flights will depart Denpasar’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport at 9:10 AM WITA, arriving in Perth at 12:50 PM local time. The return flights from Perth will take off at 1:35 PM local time and reach Bali at 5:20 PM WITA.

On the affordability side, ticket prices start at IDR 1,799,999 for a one-way trip, and each ticket includes a complimentary baggage allowance of 15 kg. There are a total of 174 seats available per flight, and tickets are available for purchase now.

Keeping Pace with Industry Competitors

TransNusa is not the only airline expanding its route offerings. Recently, AirAsia announced a new flight linking Darwin, Australia, to Denpasar, set to begin in March 2025. This service will also cater to high demand and will provide an additional 1,000 seats each week. AirAsia’s Darwin-Denpasar route will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, with the first flight scheduled for March 22, 2025.

Building on the Popularity of Bali

Bali remains a favorite destination for Australian tourists, who have consistently topped the list of international arrivals to the island for over a decade. In 2024 alone, more than 1.5 million Australian passport holders visited Bali, solidifying the island’s status as a significant vacation hotspot. Following Australia, Chinese tourists accounted for 563,000 visits, while India ranked third with 466,000 travelers.

Industry experts anticipate that the launch of the Denpasar-Perth flight will enhance travel opportunities not only for Australians visiting Bali but also for Indonesian tourists eager to explore the diverse offerings of Western Australia.
