A recent experience by an Australian tourist in Uluwatu, Bali, has raised alarms about the state of accommodations advertised as luxurious, following her unsettling discovery of what she believed was a high-end hotel. However, her excitement quickly faded as she encountered disarray and neglect. “It’s just an absolute mess,” she remarked, noting the sight of bashed-in doors and trashed rooms as she maneuvered through the hotel.
As she explored the premises, her disappointment deepened. “We went to the swimming pool, and it’s completely green and horrible,” she described, highlighting the shocking state of facilities that should have been central to a luxury experience. Videos shared online showcased overgrown plants, damaged gym equipment, and water from taps flowing a murky brownish-green color.

In response to the outcry, a spokesperson for the New Kuta Hotel acknowledged that parts of the property were undergoing renovations.
