While some areas like Sanur and Nusa Dua are already pedestrian-friendly, many other bustling destinations, including Uluwatu and Canggu, currently present challenges for foot traffic.

Local government leaders from Bali’s Badung Regency, which oversees renowned tourism hotspots such as Kuta, Legian, and Seminyak, have confirmed that the upcoming 2026 Regency Budget will allocate funds to repair damaged sidewalks and construct new pavements. In a recent statement to reporters, Bali Senator Wayan Pupsa Negara outlined that a thorough assessment has been conducted to identify the most critical areas in need of improvement. “The damage to the sidewalk has caused tourists who pass by to fall. This has endangered safety. Because it is a tourism area, it is necessary to make repairs,” Negara explained.

The Samigita Beach area, stretching from Kuta Beach through Legian to Seminyak, has been specifically mentioned as a priority for improvement.
