A 27-year-old Russian woman, identified by her initials as AA, sustained significant injuries after slipping on coral while attempting to capture a memorable photo at Bias Tugel Beach in Padangbai on April 5. ## Incident Details

The local police reported that on Saturday afternoon, AA was enjoying a day at the beach when she decided to stand on a rock to snap a selfie. Unbeknownst to her, a large wave approached, knocking her off balance and sending her tumbling onto the coral bed below. The injuries were severe enough to necessitate immediate medical attention on the beach.

Iptu I Gede Sukadana, the Head of Public Relations for the Karangasem Police, confirmed details of the incident. "The victim suffered a tear wound on the upper right side of the head and a blister wound on the right thigh. At the time, she was conscious," he explained.

Following the accident, AA was assisted by onlookers and local emergency services, including the Padangbai Port Police and the Barsarnas Health Team. Initially treated at the Penta Medica Manggis Clinic, she was later transferred to RSU Kasih Ibu Hospital in Gianyar Regency for further care.
