47th International Cultural Exchange Programme Held in Bali

The 47th International Cultural Exchange Programme, a collaborative effort by the International Cultural Sourabha Parishat India and the Global Peace Foundation, recently took place at the Astoon Auditorium in Bali. The event, characterized by its rich homage to cultural diversity and collaboration, commenced with a traditional floral offering ceremony.
Inaugural Ceremony Highlights
The ceremony was inaugurated by Dr. E Anjaneya, the managing director of Kuber Palace, Raichur. Dr. Anjaneya praised the enchanting green landscapes of Bali, which he described as a ‘gift of nature.’ He underlined the importance of such cultural exchange programs and expressed optimism about their success in Bali’s hospitable environment.
Growing Support for Cultural Exchange
K P Manjunath Sagar, the founder-president of the International Cultural Sourabha Parishat India, addressed the growing support for cultural exchange initiatives since 2004. He emphasized that the backing from Kannada associations across the globe has been instrumental in fostering cultural harmony and enhancing international collaboration.
Reflections on Life’s Guiding Figures
Retired deputy commissioner Dr. D S Vishwanath served as the guest of honor at the event. He spoke thoughtfully about the vital roles that parents, teachers, and well-wishers play in shaping an individual’s life, urging attendees to remember and respect these contributions. The event was presided over by Dr. K B Nagoor, president of the Dr. Nagoor Education Trust in Vijayapura.
Distinguished Guests Share Insights
The event featured a number of special invitees, including Bali-based business advisor Newman Sri, honorary president of the International Cultural Sourabha Committee Dr. Pallavi Mani (Subramani), president of the Surat Kannada Sangha Radhakrishna Shetty, artist Dr. Prashanth from Mysuru, and writer Dr. Archana Athani from Belagavi. Each shared their unique insights and perspectives on the importance of cultural unity.
Notably, Dr. Archana Athani’s travelogue titled Mohaka Maldives was officially launched during the event, showcasing her experiences and adventures.
Celebrating Achievements Across Fields
The evening also included the prestigious Asia-Pacific Iconic Awards ceremony, where several distinguished achievers were honored for their contributions across various fields. Recipients included Prabha Shastri from Shivamogga, Radhakrishna Shetty from Surat, Chinta Ravinder from Hyderabad, Kosuru Ratnam, Dr. Prashanth from Mysuru, and Vidushi Madhavi D K from Davangere.
Cultural Performances Enrich the Event
The event culminated in a captivating cultural segment featuring traditional Balinese Barong dance performances by local artists. Vidushi Madhavi D K, director of Naman Academy in Davanagere, enchanted the audience with a dance adaptation of Kuvempu’s poetry titled Elladaru Iru (Be Anywhere, But Serve Literature). Additionally, Purnima Satish and Arati Suresh presented a dance recital, while Prof. Bindige Navile Bhagavan recited poetry, and Dr. Prashanth delivered an uplifting message on global harmony.
